May 7th- Burgos to Somewhere

We had to go to the police station first thing to file a report for Ulrik about being pick-pocketed, That meant a 25 minute walk in the wrong direction and back, We stopped at a cafe next to the Cathedral and had eggs and bacon along with toast and coffee, It was delicous, Better than the norm of bread and jam, The Cathedral opened at 9.30  so by the time we had visited etc we left late, It was going to be a hot day so i stopped at a tourist shop to get a hat with a brim as my neck was getting burned (red neck) We set a good pace as it was our first day on the Meseta, Spains plateau, People will bus this part as some say its boring and miss the section between Burgos and Leon, I do not understand this as its part of the journey and if nothing else a good place to think and contemplate, The guide shows a stop at Hornillos but we kept walking to San Bol, I noticed a couple of women sitting at the edge of town with their backpacks, Strange i thought, After checking the Aubergues it seems that the town was full, A first, The women in the store made a call and said that a bus/taxi was on its way and would take us to some accommodation and then bring us back in the morning,The mini bus arrived and 7 of us got on and then we travelled around 7-8 miles into the middle of nowhere, We stopped at a nice house or casa rural where we were given a room, I shared with Ulrik, It was very nice but at 24 euros way more expensive than i would normally pay, You could not see any building wherever you looked, It took rural to a whole new meaning, The food was excellent and breakfast was in the price so not bad, It seems that a scene from The Way was shot there and a poster was on the wall signed by Emilio and Martin Sheene, As promised the next morning we were taken back to the place where we were last night,
A little thinner in the face and with tourist hat
Pilgrim sculpture
Famous Camino graffiti
Nothing but blue skies and a wife path
Some very clever pilgrims on the trail

 A long and winding road

The end of the road for this boot
