As usual it was an early start, Walk in the cool morning air, Watch the sun rise and walk around 30km or 18+ miles, These are the starts that i enjoy especially when you come across a bar within a few miles, This one was a little different, As well as the usual Cafe Con Leche and croissants this bar offered Egg, Bacon and Toast, What a great way of charging the batteries, Across from the bar was a big mound of earth with doors going into it, Obviously some hermits/troglodytes or Hobbits live there, The walk was in rolling countryside-lovely, I always have my eyes open for wildlife and there has been a lack of it unless you count the millions of birds, Today's bird of the day was a Hoopoe, The Camino made a small diversion past an old Church with quaint bridge and statues, Very nice, We made our way though Sahagun where again we stopped for coffee and a delicious pastry, The woman behind the counter told us of a robbery the night before with 4000 euros of lighting stolen (gypsy kids) and 2 people in an aubergue had money taken, After that it was back to a stoney track and rolling countryside with some lovely wild flowers along the edges, It was a very nice walk and i chatted with Nina from Slovenia,
Hobbits
Lonesome tree
Pilgrims enjoying breakfast
Bridge to Virgen Del Puente
Very old building in Sahagun
And opposite
Very grand entrance
Lovely bridge as you exit the town
Selfie from the bridge
Ideal first time home
Wide trail with colorful wildflowers
Cazadilla has the tiniest tienda or store i have ever seen, The owner is also under 5 feet (guess) and probably made the beds in the Aubergue i stayed at as i am 6 feet and my feet and head touched the ends without trying, One the plus side there is a restaurant at the far end of town with a crazy chef who will make the best food you can find for 12euro's
